Greenbrier Wolfpack vs Columbia Raiders (boys) Dec. 11, 2009
We got the chance to check out two of the better teams in Columbia County between Greenbrier and the Columbia Raiders. Columbia showed their athleticism by gathering steals and converting on layups in the first quarter, which lead to a 14-2 Columbia lead. #34 T. Cabarrus (Columbia) dominated the game on both ends. He gathered rebounds and took the rock full court for layups and floaters. He had 12 first half points. Greenbrier couldn’t get their offense going due to their starting guard #23 Khadime Celestine (Greenbrier) picking up 3 first half fouls. Columbia kept the attack on throughout the game, which lead to a 44-19 lead going into the fourth quarter. Greenbrier continued to play hard but couldn’t cut the lead down. Columbia County doesn’t have a playoff system which is unfortunate because it would be nice to see how Columbia will look against Evans and Grovetown Middle in a playoff battle.
Final Score: Columbia 55 Greenbrier 29.
#34 T. Cabarrus led all scorers and Columbia with 16 points and 7 rebounds. #22 J. Grimes added 11 points and #21 K. McCladdie added 10 points as well for Columbia. T. Martinez led Greenbrier with 6 points.
